We are delighted to introduce you to Oasis North Shore: a mentoring community of depth psychotherapists and clinicians.
Oasis North Shore represents the vision of Sarah Warren, PhD, who is creating a vibrant, in-person community of like-minded colleagues in a bright, airy, casually elegant space in the heart of downtown Evanston.
Oasis is a professional club that supports early-, mid-career, and senior-level members through lively social gatherings, access to professionally-led consultation groups, and intimate high-caliber cultural conversations across disciplines with scholars, thought-leaders, and artists to invite engagement with questions such as:
How do we make sense of the turbulent world we’re living in?
How can the arts enrich our psychological understanding of the
human condition?
How do we bring theory to bear on work with exceptionally complex cases?
What’s the relationship between psyche and soma?
What do we need from each other in this challenging era?
A lifelong convener with over 35 years of experience as a hospital-trained, psychodynamically-oriented psychologist, Dr. Warren invites you to join this unique collegial club in which we gather to explore how the worlds of art, literature, science and ideas enrich our lives, our work, and our community.

The presenters brought both their personal experiences of unexpected loss and their extensive clinical experience of working with individuals and families who are coming to terms with profound, often traumatic losses.
This contemplative experience was designed to avoid the overstimulation of talking about what's going on in the world and how it's affecting us. We offered an opportunity to sit together as we collectively directed our attention to transcendent perspectives on the challenge of being human in a time of crisis.
Colleagues joined for an in-person exploration of how somatic approaches can support and enhance the work of insight-oriented psychotherapy. Group leaders Sarah Tolan-Mee, Eliza Hofman, and Sarah Warren helped participants better understand how the interface between the psyche and the body can deepen the work of insight-oriented psychotherapy.
Colleagues joined for a convivial evening of conversation over a glass of wine as they discussed psychological insights from Chekhov’s play, Three Sisters. Participants read through Act II of Three Sisters as a way to approach Chekhov's commitment to the minutiae of daily living.
Colleagues joined for a convivial evening of organic wine tasting and shared reading of Eugene Ionescos' classic yet still-relevant play, Rhinoceros. This event was hosted in the casually elegant "Gathering Space" at Oasis North Shore/ARC Professional Group in Downtown Evanston.
At this event, Dr. Jessup applied psychodynamic and systems theories and cutting-edge science on the brain-psyche interface to a case study example. We also discussed how relational neurobiology can deepen our understanding and our work.
We recently hosted a restorative yoga session at Oasis North Shore. This session was led by Eliza Hofman, MFA, RYT, the session focused on how yoga can rejuvenate and center clinicians amidst their busy lives. With personalized attention, participants explored yoga's ability to shift mood, energy levels, and mindset. We learned adaptable techniques to calm nerves, boost energy, and foster grounding in both personal and professional realms. It was a privileged opportunity for Oasis North Shore to support the therapeutic community with Eliza Hofman's expertise in mental health and neuroscience.
We hosted an insightful discussion at Oasis North Shore in downtown Evanston, exploring the integration of abstinence-based and harm reduction approaches in psychotherapy. Led by Sarah Warren, PhD, a clinical psychologist with over 35 years of experience, the session covered applications beyond substance use to other complex cases. Participants discussed a unified approach where abstinence can be achieved through harm reduction, emphasizing harm reduction's role in reducing symptoms.
At 'The 'Garden Variety' The Substances We All Treat, Sarah Warren PhD gave a case presentation about high-risk patients and their complex relationships with substances. By comparing two cases Dr. Sarah Warren provided comparisons and contrasts regarding their coordination of care. Gathered with fellow Chicago clinicians, Dr. Sarah Warren led a meaningful conversation that sparked insightful questions and fostered new connections. Accompanied by refreshing beverages and organic snacks, this event succeeded in bringing together a community of clinicians.
With over 35 years of experience as a hospital-trained psychodynamically-oriented psychologist, Sarah Warren is creating a mentoring community of colleagues, supporting early and mid-career colleagues who want to deepen their theoretical foundation, and providing a venue for senior clinicians and clinical-leaders to share their challenges.
